Peg McAndrews

Then Now

Short Bio

I was Fred Wang's Administrative Assistant at the time that the 928 was originally released -- way back in 1976. Harold and I had some really good time, and a hell of a lot of laughs during those days. Anyhow, although I wasn't a direct (or indirect) report to Harold, this was a big part of my early Wang life, and some days I did feel like I reported to Harold -- he was such a presence.

Stories and Anecdotes

It was Theda McGrath, and actually Harold was probably the "Most Guilty" of editing her memo errors and posting them. I thought it was a hoot, myself. The one that stays with me was when she sent out a memo about the use of Xerox machines for personal business. She spelled Xerox "Zerox," as well as a couple of other glaring errors. Harold edited and posted the memo in a couple of very visible places.

The woman was a Vice President. You would think that, at the very least, her Admin would have caught these errors.
